Approach:

My approach focuses on the individual needs of my students by practising key skills necessary for them to feel confident and excel in English whether at GCSE or at other levels. Moreover, if I can help my students to enjoy their learning whilst at the same time building confidence and stretching their thought processes, then a student is more likely to be engaged and to excel.

Additionally, I teach through the use of tailor-made tasks including essay skills, analysis of texts, discussion, visual aids, and the all important practice of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard!). I will also go over a student’s work with them in order to praise good practice and reflect on how improvements can be made. Communicating with parents is a key part of the service I offer and references are available upon request.
